WWE recently severed ties with several notable names in the promotion, as some were released, and for some, the company decided not to renew their contracts. Recently, Shotzi Blackheart got emotional following a surprise appearance.
Earlier this year, it came to light that WWE won't renew Shotzi Blackheart's contract, and she would leave the company in June. The 33-year-old star is no longer with the company and has now started her journey as a free agent in the industry.
Recently, she made a surprise appearance at Hoodslam, where she started her wrestling journey over a decade ago. After wrestling one of her original trainers at the event in California, the 33-year-old star penned a tweet after an emotional and sentimental match outside the Stamford-based promotion in over a few years.
"SURPRISE! I had to kick off this next chapter of my career where it all started for me! Wrestled one of my OG trainers last night in an emotional and sentimental match that really epitomized what you all are about to see from me. Watch it on @Triller_TV HOODSLAM FEARLESS," Blackheart tweeted on X.
Major name apologized to Shotzi before WWE departure
Earlier this year, Alexa Bliss returned to the Stamford-based promotion for the first time in over two years and competed in the Women's Royal Rumble match. While she didn't win the contest, The Goddess was also not the planned star for the spot in the gimmick match.
Speaking on Daria and Toni Unwrapped, the former WWE NXT Women's Tag Team Champion revealed that Alexa Bliss had no idea she would take Shotzi's spot in the gimmick match. After the bout, Bliss apologized for what happened, as she wasn't aware that the management would take someone out to facilitate her return.
"Honestly, if you're gonna take me out for anyone, at least make it be the biggest pop of the night. I have to say that Alexa had no idea that someone was getting replaced. She had no idea any of that was going on. She felt so bad, and she came up to me afterwards, and she was like, 'Oh my God, I'm so sorry, I didn't even realize they were taking someone out of the Rumble to get me in there," Blackheart said.
It'll be interesting to see where Shotzi appears next in the coming months.
